New Shower

My wife and I have recently replaced the shower in the master bedroom. It looks great, but I slightly regret not having the plumping replaced as well. Not only do I find myself replacing the rubber parts every year or so, but I’m afraid that we’ll get yet another leak in the water closet. Truth be told, we intend to sell the house within a year or so, making this upgrade a wasted expense. I think that getting some nice Moen faucets installed in the bathrooms and kitchen might be a nice touch, though.

In other homeowner news, I had a wasp nest in the grass under one of my trees. Everyone I talk to says that it is unusual for them to have a nest on the ground like that, but there they were. I read in wikipedia that they will make nests in holes in the ground.

There’s a funny story that goes with this… When I first found the nest, I was looking for a part of the irrigation system. I found a wasps nest instead. I ran into the house, kinda freaked out, and tell my wife about it.

The next day, we buy some wasp killer spray and I go to check out the nest. All I see are some curled up yellow leaves. I go inside, telling my wife “I’m not crazy…” and explaining that I didn’t find any wasps out there. I figured that because it was getting dark and I didn’t have my glasses on before that maybe I just thought I saw the wasps.

So the day after that, I go to find the irrigation stuff that I was looking for, and I find the wasp nest again. This time I poisoned those suckers. One fly at me and I sprayed it, then promptly ran into the house. Then I called my wife and told her once again that I wasn’t crazy, and she knew exactly what I was talking about.

New fixtures are definitely a selling point when people look thru a house that they’re considering.
