Mount Rainer

For her sixtieth birthday, my mom and a few of her adorable friends traveled to Washington state to hike the trails in Mount Rainer National Park. I characterize them as “adorable” because that seemed to be the title all the younger hikers gave them as this crazy group of soon-to-be seniors tackled ten mile hikes in some of our country’s most beautiful terrain. They stayed in Yakima a few nights and travelled north to see what else the area had to offer. Now my grandmother, who will be eighty at the end of the year, will be going with another group of true seniors. I don’t believe they will be hiking the trails like mom and the “Adorables”, but I know they will love riding through them on their tour busses. Grandma has already checked www.direc4u.com to see if all her shows will be offered along the trail, and sure enough her regularly scheduled programming will be just as it is at home. What a difference a generation makes! Either way, both young ladies will experience the mountain country in style.
